Welcome listener.

Well, if you haven’t listened to Episode #000 where I explain what this place is, allow me to explain here.

cgRoundup is a cg oriented podcast that mainly involves the opinions and view expressed by me (Andrew) and usually other guests. One of our aims is to be totally honest, but many might expect that to entail alot of shock opinons. It wont, I and all of my guest either do cg as a hobby or as a profession and we will always remain respectful. We are not looking to upset people but like I said we want to be honest.

Our main topics will revovle around CG News, Software, Media, Education, Main Issues and Workflow.

The current regular guest of the show:-

  • Jonathan Williamson (Co-host)
  • Eugene Reilly (Co-host)

As you can tell, im not a web developer so please excuse the current state of the website, but for now it works in terms of delivering the content right to your download folder. In the future we may invite people who have the time and the enthusiam to help us in this area and if we do it will be announced in the podcast and the post that accompanies it.

Ratings System

So with a podcast that is based in a Technical/Artistic subject there is a high chance we will either talk about subject/concepts or use terminology that will confuse and baffle the new user. The idea of the ratings system is not to highlight or point out what might be considered the “elitist” parts of the podcast, its just an indicator to those who are new or relatively new that there may be content that you might not fully understand.

The podcast episode will have a general rating, but obviously there might be areas where the talk will move onto something that would be classed with a different rating ie A whole episode might be rated an “A” but somewhere near the end might have some talk that might be considered “E”.

So what exactly are the different types of ratings (in case you hadn’t noticed I have reference a well-known rating system, because im lazy).

Rated “A”

An episode with this rating indicates that no one should have a problem understanding the majority of the podcast’s content.

Rated “CG-13″

A person with 13 months or more exposure to the CG world should have no problem understanding the content. Newbie’s listening shouldn’t find it too jarring, but if you do it’s will more than likely be covered in the Show notes and Links section of the post.

Rated “E”

Although being rated Expert, this basically means that the content exceeds the average user, it doesn’t necessarily mean experts will be the only people who will understand it. It will more than likely contain alot of technical terms, procedures, what will also ensure this rating is if the content switches between alot of other CG sectors.

So with all of that out of the way, I just want to mention that this is a work in progress and even though we have spent alot of time behind the scenes trying to perfect the show we are very much still open to criticism and input (hope I havent opened the floodgates with that comment).

So if you have a news story, if you have an idea, if you want to be a guest on the show (you would have to takepart in a pre-interview for quality and content), want to express any thoughts on the show, head over to the Contact page and email the relevant links.

Your email WILL be read.

So with that, i really hope you enjoy your stay and subscribe to our show.
